Android Ice Cream Sandwich O/S

(The following is just a generic guide for the more essential operations on an Android tablet)

1. SCREEN CAPTURE

Hold down the power and volume down buttons to capture a screenshot of
the currently running application or image - this works on some tablets.
(There are also dedicated free apps for screen and website capture)

2. CREATING SCREEN FOLDERS

Create a folder by dragging one icon on top of another … useful for
saving screen space and reducing searching for related apps.
The name of these folders can also be changed by clicking the name.

3. ADDING APPS TO SCREENS

Go to the screen where the app is to be placed.
Press the App Drawer icon.. 6 dots at top-right of screen.
Find your app and press and hold the icon.

4. REMOVE APP ICON FROM SCREEN

Press and hold the app icon until it can be moved.
Drag icon to the cross or bin at the edge of the screen.

5. REMOVING APPS FROM TABLET OR MOVING APPS TO SDCARD

(Beforehand, place the "Settings" icon from the App Drawer onto one of the screens)
Tap Settings icon.
On Settings screen tap "Apps".
Tap the app icon to be dealt with.
Tap "Uninstall" or "Move to SD card"
NOTE: If there is a problem with the app after moving just reverse the process.

6. ADDING WIDGETS TO SCREENS

Go to the screen for the widget location and check that there is a clear space.
Tap the 6 dots and then tap the Widgets drawer icon.
Tap and hold the required widget icon.
The widget then opens in the required screen allowing for the setup process to take place.
NOTE: If there isn´t enough space the widget will not open and a message will appear.
Make space for the widget and try again.

7. SCREEN BUTTONS

A) Bottom-left arrow …… Back Button.
B) Middle House icon …… Home Screen Button
C) Double-screen icon ……Opens Running Apps List
(Drag the app icon to the right to close the app or tap to run the app).

8. TABLET POWER BUTTON

Short press for STANDBY and Long Press for POWER OFF and then accept.

9. CONNECTING TO THE ANDROID STORE

A) Tap the Play Store icon, normally on your Main screen OR
B) Tap the Shop icon in the Top-right of the Apps drawer.
c) Search for and select your app and then tap download and then approval.
D) After installation you can open it from the download screen OR
E) Go to your tablet´s main screen by tapping "Home" where you may find the app icon.

10. CONNECTING TO A TV.

(For some tablets : Beforehand, place the "HdmiSwitch" icon from the App Drawer onto one of the screens)
You need a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the tablet´s mini-HDMI-out to the TV´s HDMI-in.
Select the TV´s HDMI source from the TV´s menu system.
Tap the tablet´s HdmiSwitch icon and select either the 720p or 1080p option.
The tablet screen will blank and open on the TV.
Use the tablet with your finger to move the TV cursor (a circle) and click the "OK" selection by tapping.
This has a timer so be quick and once done you can use the TV´s tablet representation.
To change screens move the cursor to the right or left of the TV screen and tap the tablet screen.
