Guide for Ramos W6HD

BASIC USER GUIDE FOR THE RAMOS W6HD WITH ANDROID ICS 4.0.3

(The following is just a guide for the more essential operations on the W6HD)

1. SCREEN CAPTURE
Hold down the power and volume down buttons to capture a screenshot of
the currently running application or image.
(There are also dedicated free apps for screen and website capture)

2. CREATING SCREEN FOLDERS
Create a folder by dragging one icon on top of another … useful for
saving screen space.

3. ADDING APPS TO SCREENS
Go to the screen where the app is to be placed.
Press the App Drawer icon.. 6 dots at top-right of screen.
Find your app and press and hold the icon.

4. REMOVE APP ICON FROM SCREEN
Press and hold the app icon until it can be moved.
Drag icon to the cross at top of screen.

5. REMOVING APPS FROM TABLET OR MOVING APPS TO SDCARD
(Beforehand, place the "Settings" icon from the App Drawer onto one of the screens)
Tap Settings icon.
On Settings screen tap "Apps".
Tap the app icon to be dealt with.
Tap "Uninstall" or "Move to SD card"
NOTE: If there is a problem with the app after moving just reverse the process.

6. ADDING WIDGETS TO SCREENS
Go to the screen for the widget location and check that there is a clear space.
Tap the 6 dots and then tap the Widgets drawer icon.
Tap and hold the required widget icon.
The widget then opens in the required screen allowing for the setup process to take place.
NOTE: If there isn´t enough space the widget will not open and a message will appear.

7. SCREEN BUTTONS
A) Bottom-left arrow …… Back Button.
B) Middle House icon …….Home Screen Button
C) Double-screen icon ……Opens Running Apps List
(Drag the app icon to the right to close the app).

8. TABLET BUTTONS (with power hole on left of the tablet)
A) Top-left …. Volume UP & DOWN.
B) Top-middle …Left press for Menus & Right-press for Back button.
C) Top-right ….Power Button … Short press for STANDBY and Long Press for POWER OFF.

9. CONNECTING TO THE ANDROID STORE
A) Tap the Play Store icon, normally on your Main screen OR
B) Tap the Shop icon in the Top-right of the Apps drawer.
c) Search for and select your app and then tap download and then approval.
D) After installation you can open it from the download screen OR
E) Go to your tablet´s main screen by tapping "Home" where you will find the app icon.

10. CONNECTING TO A TV.
(Beforehand, place the "HdmiSwitch" icon from the App Drawer onto one of the screens)
You need a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the tablet´s mini-HDMI-out to the TV´s HDMI-in.
Select the TV´s HDMI source from the TV´s menu system.
Tap the tablet´s HdmiSwitch icon and select either the 720p or 1080p option.
The tablet screen will blank and open on the TV.
Use the tablet with your finger to move the TV cursor (a circle) and click the "OK" selection by tapping.
This has a timer so be quick and once done you can use the TV´s tablet representation.
To change screens move the cursor to the right or left of the TV screen and tap the tablet screen.

11. CONNECTING TO A PC
Use the supplied USB cable to connect your tablet´s mini-USB to the PC USB port.
The tablet will recognise this and pop up two requests for acceptance.
A green Android will appear and when fully connected it will change colour.
A partition icon will become available in Windows Explorer, e.g., E, F.
NOTE: If you have an external SD-card fitted into the tablet you will get TWO Explorer icons.
These will be the tablet´s NAND memory (8GB) and your SD-Card size, e.g., 16GB, 32GB.
You can then drag and drop from the two devices in any direction.
NOTE: ALWAYS use the Windows "Safely Remove Hardware" icon before disconnecting the USB cable.

12. CONNECTING USB devices, e.g., Sticks, hard drives, mouse, keyboard.
Use the supplied cable which has a female USB connector for the above devices.
In the case of of USB sticks and hard drives, these will appear as "sda1" in your tablet´s File Manager.
You can unplug the cable safely for these operations.

13. ASTRO FILE MANAGER (has to be installed from the Android Store)
Drag and Drop procedure.
A) Using ASTRO,go to the place where the folder or file is located.
B) Press the folder or file icon until a menu pops up.
C) Select either Move or Copy.
D) On the left-hand series of icons a PASTE icon will appear.
E) Go to the place where you want to do the transfer and then tap the PASTE icon.
F) The PASTE icon will then disappear until you do a similar procedure the next time.
